Make the option to upgrade to 4 gb of RAM

230 points posted to Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops by johnpro 06/28/07

Many of the new computers are not giving consumers the option to install more than 2 gb of ram. It would be nice to make computers with the ability to hold more than 2 gb.

There's a reason

Most computer users have no need for more than 2gb. On top of what was posted before, Dell is going for what the public will buy, and if 3 or 4 is not in demand, they are not going to sell it.

It would be nicer to make (more) computers with the ability to actually use all 4G of RAM and not have it disappear behind BIOS and IO ports.

Vista 32 bit cannot access more than 3.16GB (approx) of RAM... That's why this limitation.

It'd make sense to offer windows XP 64 bit to allow over 4G ram
