Better lineup in smaller countries

210 points posted to Sales Strategies, Service and Support by millhauz 06/18/07

I´m from the Czech Republic and the choices in comparison to the U.S. are really bad for the "consumer" line - no Dimension/ XPS PCs; Inspiron 1501/5, M1210 notebooks and that's about it. I get that the market posibilities are smaller, but when you have such small choice, than it's hard to buy sth. Our neighbour country (Germany) has the full lineup and the PCs don't need any altering I believe (like powercords etc.) so why is it so hard to ship it a bit farther? Sure the notebooks need changes - like keyboard in the countries's language (I would be totally satisfied with an english keyboard though). And the Dell site.....well, it got an upgrade recently - but the design is still like a year or two older than the current Dell.com...seriously that's not the way to gain ground (if that's what they want).

Dell seems to care about businesses, because there are complete product lines, but consumers don't seem to be worth it. I hope this is going to change...or there's no Dell for me (m1330/e1420)

I wonder whether the Commission likes this.

I cannot read Czech, but somehow I could see what is offered there. Their product offerings are much smaller than in the US. I live in the US myself, but I agree that Dell should offer all PCs, servers and computer accessories (printers, keyboards and mice, monitors etc.) everywhere.

You know, it has gotten a lot better since then, but still...
