State Linux Compatibility of All PCs Preloaded with Windows As Well As All Peripherals. 380 points posted to Linux, Desktops and Laptops by smah 06/04/07 The reason for this is that many Linux users buy Windows PCs with the intention of dual booting to run legacy Windows applications (since there is only a $50 price premium for Windows). Also many companies like mine have a policy of where possible buying only IT equipment that is compatible with both Windows and Linux (to ensure redeployability if required). The result is that we look for good Linux compatibility when buying Windows PCs.
