Notebooks

80 points posted to Advertising and Marketing by brucemel 04/16/07

Our Family has purchased 8 Dell notebooks and two desktops in the last 6 years (last two Sept 2006). We are overdue for another Notebook but Dells products are just NOT competitive. Their notebooks are boring and we are contemplating switching brands....any advice?

I have been looking at the MACs but will it plug and play into my network? Everyone tells me that the MAC is great but they also tell me I will be forever building bridges back to intel

Wait until mid to late May to see Dell's new notebook lineup. Then decide. That's what I'm doing. New 17" should have features comparable to everyone else's 17". Full keyboard, dual hard drive (raid 0 or 1), lightscribe DVD, centrino pro, 2gb minimum, Nvidia 8800 gpu, etc.

And DELL will probably be the fastest, as usual.

I have my fingers crossed that they won't dissapoint.

I will probably wait. I am more the 700M, XPS1210 person....................I prefer the small form factor. The HP Pavillion tx100z looks like a great machine.
Hopefully Dell will come through

Avalonthas,

If you read the above people have given me advice and if you read between the lines of my original post I am giving advice to Dell that they better come up with cool refreshed notebooks, I and others
will go elsewhere. Dell is well aware of this issue and I am sure appreciates the feedback. Are you the posting police?????

Latest news, Dell has contracted Asus to build laptops. And Asus has some nice rigs. Expect a June
