Dell Forums - no Linux/OSS forum

The Windows folk here, as well as some OSS folk, have called for a separate forum for Linux/OSS.

Dell FORUMS would be a good place to implement this, if Dell is about to offer machines with Linux pre-installed to the general public.

So.... might we know roughly when we could expect to see a new category under that portal??????

There is a Linux forum on the Forums and linux.dell.com.

phubert28 04/10/07	That's all well and good, Richard, but how do I find it from the main Dell Forums...? And, is it equivalent to the forums with plain links FROM the main site? I _don't_ see that it should be only a _support_ forum, either... So, "not there yet"???

richard 04/10/07	The (non-Dell) Linux community forum is found under Tech Talk. There is also linux.dell.com for your viewing pleasure.
badblood 04/10/07	I was just reading some of the forum on linux and installing linux with windows is really complicated. Oh dear... Dell better do it for me or I'll just be calling up the service centers and screaming at them all day and night. Oh dear.
phubert28 04/11/07	Richard, Again, thanks for the references... however, it doesn't address the need to give Linux the same visibility as the other forums off the main page, now does it? I realize that MAY be coming, but once more we are hearing nothing FROM Dell about its plans to implement a, shall we say, 'more aggressive' Linux policy? And, once more, we see no official Dell presence in THIS forum.
