How IdeaStorm Works:

IdeaStorm seems to be built on Ruby/Rails on Apache Linux - Tell us what SW you use, Dell.

Interesting

http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=http: me that www.IdeaStorm.com is running

Dell Computer Corporation 143.166.82.44 Linux Mongrel 1.0.1 28-Mar-2007

Last I heard, Mongrel was a Ruby infrastructure, and Linux is clearly Linux.
Seems odd for a company that "Recommends [whatever Microsoft tells you to]" on every page.

What are you using on IdeaStorm? Can you recommend that as well?

Oh, and the reason I said Apache is that you can sometimes get an error message that says "Apache/2.2.2 (Fedora) Server at www.ideastorm.com Port 80"

So, you checked-out Netcraft??

Well, first I got the error page saying Apache, which got me interested.

Then I ran "HEAD http://www.ideastorm.com" which says it runs Mongrel

I'm not sure how Netcraft infers Linux from that - but however they guessed, it reenforces what the ideastorm error page says ("Fedora").

and finally, yeah, I posted the netcraft link since it's a more easy clicky thing than the HEAD command which some OS's lack.

Like my Windoze boxes here... I really SHOULD install Linux on ONE of them... (attached to 3 different domains and 2 different VLANs)

I wonder what this is with helmecj01's demotions... just a hostile guy, or what?

phubert28 - Re: "should install linux on one" 'course you could run a vmware/virtualpc/virtualbox linux instance in one of them. All are free as in $0. Virtualbox is free as in GPL (or at least dual-licensed as GPL). http://www.virtualbox.org/ . I've had minor trouble getting networking working with it; but eventually got it - so if you try and need help feel free to ask.

@premcv - "dellideastorm.com" doesn't seem to be anything but a redirect to ideastorm.com, though - and ideastorm.com itself shows up as
