Bootable Cd with a Graphic Environment for data recovery and diagnostics

I'm from XPS Dell Tech support, and I've seen many times when an Operating System Reinstallation needs to be done due a windows corruption (that is really common) or a hardware failure, sometimes even in hardware problems like a damaged hard drive the data can be recovered, and data recovery sometimes is really important to the customer.
One alternative to prevent that data loss when the system is unable to boot into windows is:
a bootable CD with a graphical environment, this can be done using the Windows PE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Preinstallation_Environment)
is a bootable windows CD that can access the hard drive in the system, this kind of CD can be customized to include diagnostics and recovery tools, this could be really useful in those cases when the installed windows is not bootable and data needs to be backed up.

This is an excellent idea and I hope that it is something that Dell decides to do.

It is so nice to see someone posting on this website from Dell. Thanks for posting and I know that there are many of us, who would like to hear more of your ideas. I am especially interested in Dell keepting their hardware configuration up to date and documenting all components on the website, such as USB, Firewire, etc. pertaining to which version.

I am hoping that you can get more Dell representatives to participate in a two-way dialog on this website.
