Add some colors!

1060 points posted to Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Desktops and Laptops by bajtalan.hunor 02/24/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**

In my opinion nowadays colors like gray or black are getting too old. Why Dell does not follow other companies like Sony or Apple or the tiny Flybook. People like colors because it expresses their personality, not everybody is a businessman or businesswoman, we like colors. For example white is getting more and more popular but there are other trendy colors out there.

So PLEASE ADD SOME COLOR TO YOUR NOTEBOOK AND DESKTOP LINES and make them look like jewelry and not like a piece of plastic, do some cool design.

We like to show a laptop to which people say WOW. So the "WOW STARTS NOW"!

The new Inspiron and XPS notebooks do come in colors now, but stay tuned for more ways to customize the look of your PC.

The basic color is the same, but the top cover can be re-skinned with skinit

I know it, but it is not the same when you get just a skin, a piece of rubber, plastic or whatever or you have basically

Different Colors for Notebooks and PCs

offer the inspiron and XPS in different colors. e.g. with a cool lamination like HP:

or the sony vaio C different color options:

you cant compare the skinit-sticker with e.g. this: http://hpmobility.com/hpDesign.php
it has to be designed from the beginning !!!!!

they should expand the skinit thing. have it customizable, but not just a sticker, make it like the hps. but a selectable pattern

How about developing a product design which is so attractive, users don't want to cover it up or disguise it? Many posters have pointed to the elegant Apple PowerBook and iBook designs - why can't Dell do it?

we're not talking about covering something up. besides, not EVERYONE likes the mac designs. dell is about INDIVIDUALITY, not doing what His Holiness Jobs the First tells you to like.

If I want a wavy pattern, or a zigzag pattern, i should damn well get it. Not some Stormtrooper laptop. ick.

Read the post. It's talking about things like hp and vaio, rather different from the apple stuff

More Wow to Inspiron Looks

The Inspiron notebook line looks cold and outdated. There needs to be less of the metallic color and at least another color choice. People want to pick a computer that fits their style and makes them want to try it out because it has that Wow factor.

I definitely agree,, although i like what dell has done lately with the color additions, but i must say i wanted to get a dell this last month but i haven't yet simply because i only want a black laptop . Now, you have added a black top and bottom to them recently but geesh, when i want a black laptop , i want a black laptop , if i want a red laptop , i want it red. Not just the top and bottom , the inside too,, get rid of that god awful silver inside , make the inside match outside , or give the option to at least make it match the outside color. Another feature that i think should be standard for the mid range and up laptop lines is to have a backlit keyboard , do you know how much typing i do in dark areas or low lit offices. but i guess thats another thread. for these reasons only have i been looking at a macbook ,, lol but even apple's macbooks don't have it completely right.

Hi Jervis,

I have a doubt...;)
Can the Dell logo be advertised in a different color other than blue color?

As per the rules is it right or wrong? ;)

Petzy it is as per the Dell trademark, I think! If they have to rework it, they would have to re-apply for the trademark.

I'd really like that metallic, olive-drab/green available on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. That green on the Inspiron is too much
