VGA is dead why keep it alive? Please provide DVI and HDMI ports on your laptops.

VGA is not dead. I use it every day at work and at home, and I'm using equipment that's less than a year old.

Sure, VGA is on its way out, but it's not that far gone yet, not by a long shot.

I use VGA on an LCD monitor only bought about six months ago.

I promoted your idea... but think that the title would have to be just
"add and HDMI and/or DVI output"...

Here's what I need.
An HDMI Port that works with Digital and Analog DVI Signaling to I can have a VGA Dongle if need be.
I would have to explicity set 'ANALOG VGA DONGLE' to get it to work on the second monitor solution.
Then, also, i could work with old VGA Monitors and practically ALL projectors.
This combo would let me use new HD Projectors at their best, as well as old ones.

Thoughts on a merge with http://www.ideastorm.com/article/show/62611/DVI_for_Notebooks ?

Close enough I guess.

VGA is not out yet. wait a few more years, I hate the fact that older, still very good hardware is left out cold just coz it's a little old. You know how many good vga monitors are out there? With maybe another 4+ years in them of good work?
And there's also many modern projectors and such that use it. I would NOT buy a laptop if it lacked this port.

However, boosting the HDMI port is a good idea (small port too ;-)
