turnabout?

I propose building a system with components that are well-supported in linux/bsd/solaris/whatever, but are specifically not well supported in vista (vendors that don't sign their drivers, for example). this will have twofold benefits 1) encourage consumers to consider alternative oses that will reduce dell's cost-per-unit and 2) encourage microsoft to not unilaterally stop support of useful hardware so that dell can have more freedom in choosing hardware vendors
