Super Sleek Ultra Sexy Dell Laptop

Having done tech support professionally over the past 7 years, I've gathered people's opinions of various computer brands.

I think the general opinion of Dell is that their laptops are boxy and unattractive. A lot of people are not interested in purchasing a Dell because they don't like the aesthetics and believe that the build quality is poor due to the outer appearance. I also think a lot of people don't care for the "dude" image.

Being a power user myself, I appreciate owning Dell laptops. My current Inspiron may not be as sleek as my MacBook, but I go for functionality over form. I like that my Dell laptops have been easy to upgrade, usually have the latest cutting-edge technology available, provide options for user input (dual pointing devices), come with a full install of Windows so I can wipe out all the junk that comes preloaded and have different screen options (resolution and glossy or matte) among other reasons.

I think Dell should focus on designing an ultra thin laptop with smooth lines. This would give users who value aesthetic appeal a very good reason to purchase a Dell laptop.

Yeah. When I'm at home working, I've got my desktop replacement Dell laptop for productivity. But when it is time to be mobile, I take my MacBook with me.

True Story. I was riding the Bart train and doing some work on my MacBook. I was actually approached by a girl and the whole conversation revolved around how cool the new MacBook looks. She ended up giving me her phone number.

I don't really care about having a cool looking laptop to meet women, but if i could purchase a thin and light Dell notebook that is sleek and has good battery life, I'd get rid of my MacBook.

If Dell releases an ultra-thin 17" notebook, I'll be the first to buy it. My Inspiron is so thick and heavy I need a sherpa to haul it around for me. I have no complaints about the appearance of Dell's notebooks, but each generation seems to get thicker and thicker. Let's remember it's the 21st century, not the 20th, and start making notebooks that fit the era.

I think, IMHO, future Dell laptops are going to be sleek and thin. Don't know about Ultra-thin, but certainly thinner than the models presently available.
