I would appreciate to know that Dell tries to save the environment

Computer and electronics use up enormous natural resources during their lifetime. Not only during production in the from of water, energy, chemicals and rare materials, but also during their productive life in form of energy and then there is the problem of waste when they are not needed anymore.

I'm not expecting miracles and computers are just a plain necessity - but - i would appreciate it very much to know that Dell tries hard to reduce the effects mentioned before and documents these efforts in a public way together with a recognised NGO institution.

And don't try to make some cheap lobbyism stunt out of it - just be honest!

Mahei,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I also share your concern about the environment and the role Dell can play as an environmental leader. Michael Dell has made making Dell the "greenest" tech company in the world one of his top priorities, and I am proud to report that we as a company have made tremendous strides to meet this ambitious goal.

Here is a short list of sites that detail what we have done so far:

Our recycling partnership with Goodwill and the Reconnect program is great, and continues to expand to cities across the US. We also offer free recycling for all our products third party items purchased through us. Most recently, we were happy to announce that our main headquarters in Round Rock, Texas is now powered completely on renewable energy (wind and landfill methane).

Of course, there is still plenty left to be done, and we thank folks like yourself for letting us know areas that need improvement and continued efforts.

Thank you again,
Todd Dwyer
