no more bad project management with externals

My experience is that dell is good for hardware but very poor in projects. we had a server consolidation project incl. vmware with them and the experiences are very poor. dell is working with many external companies and they dont tell them what we´ve talked and commited. the result was every time the se comes to us and had no plan at all what to do.

i hate the discussions with the dell account manager and the external projectmanager !!!!

dell should work more with internal ressources to avoid this unprofessional image.

02/19/07		 the underlying problem is a common one for comapnies which have not formalized their consultancy services into a cohesive whole... or to be blunt, "shoot-from-the-hip" PM rather than getting around to actually assembling documentation, utilities and checklists to the point where they can take a kid outta college and turn him (her) into an SE in three months... my bet is their training is closer to an ad hoc apprencticeship than formalized training...

then again, I might be wrong
