In Aug./06 I bought a inspiron laptop for my daughter in PR who is attending college. I installed the AOL free trial software for her to let me know if she was going to keep it or not. She opted to keep her own service provider instead. However AOL started charging me $25.90 from the following month on until I caught it in my bank statement. The trial period would have ended at the end of this month and I should have been charged starting next month. When I contacted AOL (which is a mess to get a human being online after a miriad pages of automatic taped crap), I was told that because I used the same screen name that I used with them over 3 years ago when I used to rent my computer system before I bought my own(by the way, that account was terminated then), the activation of the free trial package was considered a reactivation of my old account therefore I was charged to the tune of 25.90x5 mo.=$129.50. I cancelled the trial account but no refund.NOBODY IN DELL OR AOL SOFTWARE free trial package explained such detail to me. THAT'S A SCAM!!!. I wonder how many other customers that purchased a Dell computer suffered the same abuse. This is the kind of disservice that sends any company no matter how big it might be into a tailspin. Also my daughter needs to install AutoCad for her engineering class and the resident memory is not big enough. FIX THOSE PROBLEMS if you want to go back to #1 spot in laptops.
