Printer Cartridges

39 points posted to Printers and Ink, Sales Strategies by burkem 02/17/07 **PARTIALLY IMPLEMENTED**

I own a very nice Dell all-in-one that works fine. But it goes through printer cartridges like no tomorrow. Why can't Dell provide bigger/fuller/better cartridges, and why can I buy them only from Dell? I feel like I have a Barbie doll for a printer--initial acquisition cost low, but buying the dresses has been very expensive. Why can't Dell, which set the standard in home use years ago (I am on my fifth home Dell), set the standrd for printers?

With the introduction of Dell printer cartridges at Staples and other retailers, this is partially implemented.

Print Cartridges

Presently, the price of print cartridges are quite pricey through Dell stores.

I opt to give up my A940 printer for an HP5610 and a Brother HL2040 because the
cartridges for them are so readily available at discount warehouses and stores.

I don't have to mail-order for them and pay a high price.

I disagree. The printer ink for the 926 is on 13.99 for a black and 17.99 for a color which is completely reasonable.

These are new cartridges too not those refill kits, and there is free shipping too. Also when I order, Dell reclaims the empty cartridges to keep them out of landfills.

As far as mail order, it's like netflix, you don't have to go to the store.
