new perspective

My girlfriend and I were sharing the sofa watching a movie. Our heads were propped up on pillows, at best 30 degrees. The thought came to me that photo programs allow you to rotate the picture 90 degrees, So why cant you rotate your television picture in the same manner. For people who are bed ridden or as in my case sofa sharing this could make for a more comfortable movie watching experience.

it already can. i think it's control+shift+right or something along that line (i've done it 2x. never had the need to)

best place to check is in the software that controls your video card. somewhere on the start menu

Most PCs can do this already. Intels shortcuts are a major pain. They get in the way of other software. Good thing they can be turned off. And btw proper graphics applications allow free rotation of images. Check out The GIMP. It's free and there are Windows and Linux versions.

kth_eckert wrote "...rotate your television picture..." so maybe (s)he is not talking about your comuter, but really a TV set, which Dell also sells. As far as I know, no TV set implements this, so it would be a new idea. Yet don't know how costly it is to implement and how many couch potatoes would like to have a button on their remote with which they can turn then picture when lying on the sofa.

Dells LCD TVs all had the same perspective warping feature that has existed on most computer displays for so long I can't remember. Of course you might not want a Dell LCD TV. They tend to die and Dell doesn't like fixing them.
