In the last shipment of computers I received I was shocked by the amount of plastic wrap used for items like power cords, USB cables, VGA/DVI cables. Do these items really need to be individually wrapped in a plastic bag. I can just imagine the tons of plastic used by Dell annually... Standardize Power Cables for Laptops Accessories (Keyboards, etc.), Laptops submitted by badblood 08/27/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Nothing is more annoying than laptop power cables that are not interchangeable from one computer model to another or from one brand of computer to another. Power cables have been standardized on most electrical applicances, including desktop computers for decades. Stop Overcharging on Notebook RAM Sales Strategies, Laptops submitted by realskript 08/28/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Dell really... REALLY need to stop overcharging... and when i say overcharing... i mean atleast double what you would pay to pick up the ram yourself. Please make Ubuntu XPS Notebook cheaper than XPS Vista Notebook Linux, Operating Systems, XPS products submitted by dki May 26

MagSafe power connectors, by Apple, are magnetic power connectors that pull out harmlessly when the cord is tripped upon. Make Linux a choice on all systems Linux, Desktops and Laptops submitted by synful Jun 8
Guys, why is it when you can allegedly get Linux on desktops and laptops, that it is never an option in the configuration of a product prior to purchasing? Put Ubuntu on the list of operating systems when building a PC! Linux, Sales Strategies, Desktops and Laptops submitted by samb0057 08/10/07 **UNDER REVIEW**
Ubuntu is hidden in a dark corner of the website. I work in IT support, and I have a client who was having virus problems a little while ago. I fixed the problem by installing Ubuntu on their PC. Very recently they called me asking for advice on a new computer, I told them about your new offer providing Ubuntu pre-installed on PCs and they wanted to purchase, but could not find the section on your site (this person is a very basic user, doesn't know what open-source means, probably didn't even see the open source link). There is no way they would have found your Ubuntu section on their own. GeForce 9M series of laptop GPUs on Dell XPS laptop XPS products, Laptop Power submitted by helmecj01 Jun 3

I didn't notice this last night as I was checking out the pictures of the new Dell Mini but it was pointed out by JamesWeb on Dell's "yourblog" that the Dell logo is upside down. There should be an option of having no trialware on all computers Software submitted by jervis961 08/23/07 **REVIEWED**
Here is a news article about trialware and how Dell feels that regular customers want it but small business ones do. Do they not look at the ideas here? Give Open Source Software a Higher profile On Dell.com Dell Web Site submitted by aikiwolfie May 22

Install FireFox 3 as the default browser Software submitted by badblood Jun 18
It's your second chance. Firefox has come out with a gleaming new version of their internet browser. So install it as the default browser before it's too late. Give XPS Notebooks Gigabit Ethernet XPS products submitted by croftki Feb 17 I understand that Dell market research says home users in general are not interested in gigabit ethernet for home networks. Those who pay for the premium design in the XPS line, however, are more likely to want gigabit ethernet. I would rather buy something more exciting than a business class notebook, but I want to build on my home technology with each purchase I make. XPS Notebooks unfortunately do not help me do this. It seems my only option is to buy a Latitude. 28 Comments » Offer Ubuntu Netbook Remix OS on your Ultra portables Linux, Operating Systems, Laptops submitted by jervis961 May 25

I find myself many, many times in dark or poorly lit environments having to guess the various keys - would be fantastic to have a backlit keyboard - with backlit individual keys as the best option. Advertising and Marketing submitted by brett_alton Jun 26
I'm pretty frustrated to receive a flyer with a Inspiron 1525 laptop on sale for $599 while the Ubuntu laptop with the same specs are $699. Matte (non-glossy) screen option on Studio laptops Laptops submitted by blomster Jun 26 Please add the OPTION of a matte screen to the new Studio 15 and Studio 17 laptops -- preferably to all of the available resolution and backlight versions. Glossy displays are a deal-breaker for me. 4 Comments » How about another update on the highest voted ideas. IdeaStorm submitted by jmxz Jun 19
