Discount upgrade without warranty costs used..

Customer purchased Full warranty support (parts & service) x 3 yrs and had NO warraanty claims for repairs.
Total cost to cust $ X99.00.
Total cost to Dell $0.00
How about as a jesture to a loyal customer looking for an upgrade in a few years, one who cared for their computer, offer a calculated discount (Some formula can be devised, but should be specific to the customers brand) and offer a specific discount on the purchase of next warranty,

May 21		 The problem I have with this is that a warranty or support contract is really like an insurance policy. How many claims have anything to do with user abuse? Claims are usually due to the normal variances in quality of PARTS which FAIL.

So, from an economic standpoint, Dell has the most to gain by trying to ensure the best QUALITY.

I'm not opposed to "loyal customer" recognition/reward. I just don't know that the lack of any need for warranty claims is in any way a vehicle for this.

May 21		 Kind of like what ALLSTATE (R) has. no claims against their policy on you = REWARD.
Maybe tracked to retail/ home customer # for accessory and repeat purchase

May 22		 Well, as to Allstate, isn't that a marketing ploy? Meaning, you get something back in one place but PAY it in another!

May 23		 seems to me like they would be punishing random people. mistakes happen. and it ain't the customer's fault. why should they loose their discount all of a sudden because someone at the factory messed up?
