engadget and others reported that the inspiron lineup is about to receive some newer models. Don't make us wait!! Release the specs now so we know what is coming soon.

The 1535 is rumored to be coming on the 26th so details should be out soon enough.

One thing I would do on the 1535 is make the T9300 processor an option as it already is on the 1720.

i was hoping to get some details on the lcd (led backlighting). Do they contain hardware that is not well supported by linux?

Promoted. It annoys me when companies leak details but dont officially announce the product until 3 months after or something like that.

Or if not T9300, how 'bout T8100 or T8300 - or *any* penryn? But now, since we're a week past 'leaked' launch and into June, are they gonna tell us just WHEN 1535 is coming?

The T8300 is already an option on the 1420, 1520, and 1525 laptops. The T9300 should also be an option on those and the 1720.

If the T8300 is already an option on the 1525 laptop, then it should be one on the 1535 replacement, which doesn't appear to be the case (comes back to the initial question).

Where did you see that the T8300 is not an option for the 1535? I would offer that and the T9300 as primary options on the 1535 (and also the 1420), as the T9300 as noted is already an option on the 1720.

Sources (e.g. Endgadget) suggest: "processors ramp up to Core 2 Duo T5850 2.16GHz chips". I'd say a Mermon-2M 2.16 GHz with 2M L2 and 667 FSB is "below" a Penryn 2.4 GHz with 3M L2 and 800 FSB. So they don't specifically exclude T8300, but the implication's there, no?
