Add higher screen resolution to all home & home office laptops

I have been using a used [another brand's] business laptop that has a high screen resolution. The cheaper Inspiron laptops can only go up to 1280x800. I cannot be productive on a screen that small any more. At least bump it up to 1440x900 or equivalent. I have basically been forced to shop in the Small Business section to find an affordable computer with a higher screen resolution.

I checked the configurable options for the Inspiron 1420, 1525, 1520, and 1720. All have LCD options up to 1440x900, and the 1720 has an offering for up to 1920x1200 and supports full 1080p.

May 25		 My fist Inspiron was the 5000 and had 1440x1050 my second one the 8500 with 1920x1200 nowadays often just 1200x800 is offered, higher resolutions starting to appear only after requests like this. I wonder why manufacturers are so reluctant to offer higher resolution choices.

May 27		 How about the XPS 1330? A thin and light notebook is really what I am after, but I need the 1440x900. I would really like to see that or even a 1620x___. Just because it is a smaller screen doesn't mean that you can't provide higher resolution.

May 28		 I think the larger resolutions should be available on the smaller laptops too. 1280x800 is just becoming too obsolete. It's alright for basic web and email, but most users are doing a lot more than web and email on their laptops. I'm sure many home and home office inspiron laptop customers use them for spreadsheeting and digital photography applications, two of many things that would benefit greatly from increased screen resolution. These customers shouldn't be turned off of high resolution because of the need to spend $75+ to upgrade to a decent resolution.
