Don't allow your software vendors to intentionally "annoy" your customers.

Rather than work with their ISVs directly, one of your software vendors put features in software you bundle with the explicit purpose "to annoy" your customers - so that your customers would in turn make requests of other software vendors.

Don't allow your software vendors to do this.

Here are more details of one of Dell's Software Vendors deliberately annoying Dell customers

"The reason we put UAC into the (Vista) platform was to annoy users--I'm serious," said Cross [group program manager in charge of UAC], speaking at the RSA Conference here Thursday.

More from the article:

Cross claimed that annoying users had been part of a Microsoft strategy to force independent software vendors (ISVs) to make their code more secure, as insecure code would trigger a prompt, discouraging users from executing the code.

Sad that they'd have a deliberate strategy of annoying Dell customers rather than talking to other ISVs.
And even sadder that Dell inflicted this deliberate annoyance on their customers.
