I've been waiting for ages now for the penryn processors to be made available in UK. Also why are all the screen resolutions except for the 1280*800 unavailable.
I don't seem to be able to get a hard drive higher than 5400 rpm either...Is the UK the new dumping ground for all the worlds old stock? I wouldn't mind if the were cheap over here but DELL charges a premium compare to everywhere else. Whats going on..... guess I'll get the MBP instead and use parallels for developing...unless someone can confirm when I can get a decent spec... isn't the xps range supposed to be top of the line.....
I swear man. Dell needs to start treating international countries better. It happens the same here in Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rico site is a missery compared to the US site. Big promote from me because I feel your disgust.
There are so many updates now requested for m1530. Perhaps Dell could start updating it to offer the following and then let us know how long it will be. Furthermore, make all these options available WORLDWIDE at the same time...and stop dumping old stock in the UK as well as other countries.
If the XPS are a premium range, then make them a premium range!
1, Penryn 2. 7200 Hard drive on all models 3. Higher resoloutions on all models 4. LED backlight 5. Backlit keyboard 6. blu-ray reader or writer option 7. Sound Blaster Audigy software option
When available (not 9 months later!): 1. next gen graphics card with 512MB DDR3 (9600m GT or higher?) 2. docking station option (on all XPS?) 3. Better sound chip and 5.1 output 4. eSata port 5. DDR3 1066 RAM 6. High capacity 7200 hard drives 7. integrated TV tuner 8. 4 USB ports 9. Display port 10. Internal Flash memory 11. 2nd gen Penryn 12. 128GB SSD
Wait a few months for a product refresh. Im guessing that when montevina is released in june we should see the m1530 get a significant performance upgrade.
By that i mean the new montevina platform, new cpu's and new gpu's! Then again i bet the USA get it first and the rest of the world has to wait for half a year :[
Slow sales due to vista and the credit crunch means thye've got masses of stock and stock purchase commitments for old hardware. And who gets it in the neck, not the US that's for sure
