Proposed change to editing our ideas

Dell obviously want more control over the editing of ideas and will not go back to giving us control of the editing. There are a few problems with the current editing process of us reporting abuse on our idea and submitting changes for the moderator to fix.

1. Once you use the report abuse function on an idea the function is no longer available to use This leaves us scratching our heads as to how to fix any further issues we have.

2. I hope the mods are good with HTML so they can fix our mistakes. Things like broken links for images or over sized images. Will the mods just delete the images or fix them? Do they know how to fix them?

3. There is no spell check function so we may have to submit many reports of abuse to fix speling erers before we get them all fixed.

Anyway I've gone on long enough with the problems and here is my solution:

Allow us to use the edit button to fix our mistakes but when we hit the submit button the changes have to go through a moderator before being allowed. It shouldn't be that big of a programming issue for this function to be added. It would save work on the moderator and still give them and us control over the edits.

Currently I see a lot of work for the mod`s using the report abuse. I agree jervis961`s fix would be the easiest and most logical way to go.

As far as I can tell there's still been zero actual abuse of editing for half a year. Until it becomes a problem I'd rather see them re-enable it and spend the time either implementing more useful features than moderation - or spending time updating the status of ideas rather than reading moderation queues.

I was quite surprised that you could let people vote your idea up and then change it, so jervis961's idea is good I think

Rather than doing all of this, I would rather JUST BRING BACK THE ABILITY TO EDIT IDEAS.

Spell checkers are nice if people remember to use them.
