ldirect systems to/for doctors

90 points posted to Healthcare, Software by drjimwarner Mar 11

Dell,
Direct to doctors, integrated systems. We are being forced to increase local security due to HIPPA, integrate scheduling and charging and billing, to lowercosts, and network health data and visit information, vfor better service and time efficiency. Please creae a cost effective integrated systems approach. Software for notes and billings is huge expenive, for no reason except marketing costs, plus systems do not work well with ahrdware. Include things like biometric security, interactive appoinment booking systems with name obscuring technology, laptops, networs and desktops and add in voice to text notes, you can own the market like now!

thanks

Dell is not a software development company. Specialised markets and specialzed system needs to be handled by specialized companies with the human resources to do what you are asking. Such a system from Dell will probably not be low cost. Dell is basically a reseller of software and hardware, Dell does little more than slap components in a box or some other package and brand them with the Dell logo.

The small market for the system you are suggestting is part of the reason why those systems are expensive, this idea is something for GE Meical/IBM or specialized manufacturers/Systems Integrator not general computer companies like Dell.

I've done some work for a Doctor and he uses software and services from mendi corp and Altapoint, I think the prices for those products and services are reasonable considering the market and speciality of the products.

You should read the other recent idea about doing this for dentists.
(And the negative-ish community response thereto.)

You should click on the D2D link above, in the masthead. Read the article on E-perscribing. This is different that what you want, but it is a step in the right direction.
